Description
Network Engineering will assist the Sr. Director, Infrastructure with defining network strategy, architecture and ensuring network uptime. The position will be responsible for evolving the network architecture to support on- premise and public cloud locations. This position is responsible for the reviewing the current systems for continual improvement in stability and performance while developing future architecture direction for the network infrastructure to support the continued growth of the enterprise.
This position is expected to provide work leadership (mentoring) to network engineers. The successful candidate possesses an advanced level of knowledge for networking technology dealing with switches, routers, hands on troubleshooting skills, basic firewall practices and configuration knowledge of IOS and TCP/IP protocols. This position is the example for the team and upholds the standards of the organization, striving to exceed organizational, industry and technology standards, while driving compliance and recommendations.
Job Desc:
- Establish and maintain the network architecture for the enterprise with focus on transition to leveraging public clouds for mission critical workloads.
- Demonstrates excellent knowledge of Checkpoint, Cisco ASA & FortiGate Firewalls, F5’s, Silver peak, Arista, Juniper Pulse & switches, Meraki, Cisco (Nexus, catalyst, ACI ,WLC) and Network Protocol Analyzer Tools to troubleshoot and fix end user and network connectivity issues.
- Fully support, manage and enhance a Cisco VOIP infrastructure across multiple stores with over 600 endpoints.
- Maintains excellent knowledge of: EIGRP, Data Encryption, IGMP, TCP/IP, and UDP. ETHERNET, VoIP, UNIX, L2 THROUGH L4 PRINCIPLES, SNMP, Net Management and Diagnostic tools.
- Maintains strategic relationships with vendors and their technical support personnel; works with vendors to isolate and fix bugs in networking equipment and has a lead role with respect to financial responsibility through researching, evaluating, and recommending systems/network hardware and software.
- Monitoring network hardware bugs and vulnerability assessments
- Performs analysis of current designs, hardware and software for the core infrastructure and alerts management and team; proactively making the organization aware of needed modifications due to changes in technology or environment.
- Serve as primary lead in troubleshooting network related activities, liaison for level 2 support and escalation point for open vendor trouble tickets: working issue to the appropriate level of criticality.
Qualification
- Experience in creating and implementing network architecture designs
- Experience with network designs that support on-premise and public cloud infrastructures
- Exhibits project management skills, tracking and reporting on projects with defined timelines and expected results and performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills both orally and verbally.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
- Experience with public cloud network designs (Microsoft Azure preferred)
- Experience in Storage Area Network design and maintenance of the landscape.
- Maintain industry knowledge of building large data and voice networks.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with complex, high available networks.
- Cisco Certification (current CCNA certification or greater) or equivalent
